Juhi Singh

I am a DST INSPIRE Faculty in the Department of Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. My research group focuses on engineering biomaterials for localized disease management, with applications spanning oral infections, cartilage defects, and prosthetic joint infections. We work with a diverse range of materials, from soft hydrogels to mechanically robust bone cements tailored to address specific clinical challenges.

Before joining IISc Bengaluru, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Sydlik Lab, Department of Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University, USA, where I worked on biomaterials for bone and cartilage regeneration and infection prevention in orthopedic implants. I completed my Ph.D. at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, through the Interdisciplinary Graduate School, co-advised by Prof. Sierin Lim (School of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering) and Prof. Terry Steele (School of Materials Science & Engineering). Prior to that, I earned my Integrated Dual Degree (B.Pharm + M.Pharm) from the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, where I worked with Prof. Brahmeshwar Mishra.
